Details!...
My design uses a drawstring to adjust to the perfect position on your hips.....underneath the belly for anyone needing hospital monitoring. Back is fully exposed for epidural needs.
You may add a matching "Birthing Bandeau" to your skirt(as seen in picture 3). Made from the same soft fabric as your skirt, this simple top is easy on, 'barely there' comfort and easy to move away for nursing your new baby right away. Please leave bust size in checkout notes if this is selected to be added on. Please note, this is not a typical bra loaded with elastic. It is a buttery soft stretch knit designed to not be binding or pinching in any way.
Designed to cover when standing but layered and split all the way to the waist to slide apart easily so that positions like birthing balls, squatting or birthing stools are able to be used. When the time for pushing comes, the flaps easily slide or flip up out of the way. No need to remove the skirt.
Paired with a sports bra or tank, you can use a birthing skirt to enjoy full mobility and comfort in a time you need it most! No pinching, no binding, just buttery soft, natural fiber jersey against your sensitive skin and with the design made to be worn under the belly...nothing against the midsection at all.The photos of actual customers illustrate the skirt in use at a home birth, hospital birth as well as a home water birth.
A note a happy customer sent said:
"I cannot say enough good things about this birthing skirt by Kobieta! I paired it with a nursing tank and I was so comfortable, MUCH better than a hospital gown. All the nurses and drs were impressed with it too."
After your delivery...hang on to this and use as a cute swimsuit cover skirt or yoga skirt over leggings! Works fabulously to cover up the bottom and hips and because of my design it adjusts easily to post postpartum sizing!
This item will be individually handmade to customer requested color in the incredibly soft, natural fiber beechtree modal jersey with lycra. The comfy tee like fabric is eco-friendly, high quality, strong, and absorbent. Beechtree fibers create a silky smooth wear for maximum comfort. All edges and seams are fully serged and hemmed.
Please select color from choices in last picture and input choice at checkout.
The skirt will be made to customer measurements for a fantastic and comfortable fit! As you complete the checkout process you will be asked to input hip and length you would like. So for now, to select a skirt choose the "general size range" you normally wear from the drop down box above and then give detailed sizing as you checkout.
You will be asked 3 measurements.
The first measurement is your Low waist/High Hip number...simply measure around your body as you see the skirt being worn on the model above. Around back and under belly.
You will then be asked 2 numbers for your length measurement. Please see the next to last picture for how to measure for the length of the skirt...these 2 numbers will give me a guide to proper length average you need.

Kobieta™ Labor & Delivery Skirt story....
After the birth of my first son, I realized how awful and uncomfortable I felt in a hospital gown. Not only because I did not like being treated like a sick patient, but because it tangled and choked me as I tried to change labor positions! By my third sons pregnancy in 2006, I knew I needed something different. Being a designer and seamstress, I knew I could do better than what was offered from the hospital. I designed a skirt to wear based on a National Geographic article I read regarding birthing rituals and wear from around the world. It worked wonderfully and word of mouth spread as friends and family... and friends of friends... began asking me for them. I had been selling my women's and children's clothing online since 2001, so this seemed like a logical product to add to my maternity and nursing line! The custom design has proved to accommodate all sizes, shapes and heights over the years and I feel honored to have been a part of so many beautiful beginnings.
